Bayern Munich and Leverkusen made it three wins for German clubs in the first week of Champions League action. Thomas Müller continued his brilliant scoring form, while Javier Hernandez hit his first goal for the club. (16.09.2015)  

Matchday 2: Luis Suarez sinks Leverkusen, Bayern deliver five-star display

Roger Schmidt's side left the Camp Nou empty-handed despite dominating and leading for long periods. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich stormed past Dinamo Zagreb who suffered at the hands of Robert Lewandowski. (29.09.2015)

Matchday 4: Gladbach sent packing, Wolfsburg suffer setback at PSV Eindhoven

Borussia Mönchengladbach remain in the hunt for third, despite a 1-1 draw at home to Juventus which sees them eliminated from the competition. Dutch champions PSV cruised to a 2-0 win over Wolfsburg. (03.11.2015)  

Matchday 4: Bayern get revenge, Leverkusen come up short

It is rare for Bayern to allow themselves to be beaten twice in a row by the same team - as they proved with a devastating victory over Arsenal. Bayer Leverkusen, meanwhile, played out another classic against AS Roma. (04.11.2015)  

Matchday 5: Bayer Leverkusen drop valuable points in Belarus

Bayer Leverkusen have fought to a 1-1 draw in Belarus to keep alive their slim hopes of advancing to the round of 16. It was a scrappy contest that featured a couple of strange goals. (24.11.2015)  

Matchday 5: Schürrle delivers for Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg seal a 2-0 win against CSKA Moscow thanks to a brace from Andre Schürrle. CSKA were perhaps unlucky not to come away with more from the game, but the three points leaves Wolfsburg well-placed. (25.11.2015)  

Matchday 5: Stindl leads Gladbach to historic win

Having weathered a second-half storm, Gladbach sent Sevilla packing with three second-half goals. Lars Stindl led the way with a brace and an assist. Gladbach are now in pole position to take third spot in their group. (25.11.2015)  

Matchday 6: Wolfsburg beat Man United to reach Last 16, Gladbach exit

Wolfsburg have qualified for the Last 16 for the first time as they dumped Manchester United out of the competition. Borussia Mönchengladbach conceded three late goals and are out of European competition. (08.12.2015)  

Matchday 6: Bayer Leverkusen left kicking themselves, Bayern cruise in Croatia

It was all or nothing for Bayer Leverkusen, who needed to better the result of Roma against Barcelona to progress in the Champions League. Bayern Munich were already through and won easily in Zagreb. (09.12.2015)  

Round of 16: PSG top Chelsea in Last 16 rematch

Paris-Saint Germain avoided a repeat of fortunes in their last 16 rematch with Chelsea. Meanwhile, Benfica returns to the Champions League knockouts with a big win towards their goal of a fourth quarterfinal appearance. (16.02.2016)  

Round of 16: Wolfsburg secure first leg win despite handing Gent a lifeline

A brace from Julian Draxler proved to be the difference for Wolfsburg against Gent in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie. A late surge from the home side means the tie is still alive for the second leg. (17.02.2016)  

Round of 16: Bayern Munich throw away two-goal lead and miss a famous win against Juventus

Goals from Thomas Müller and Arjen Robben weren't enough to stop Juventus from grabbing a draw in the Champions League round of 16 first leg. Yet Bayern still hold two away goals. (23.02.2016)  

Round of 16: Wolfsburg reach historic Champions League quarterfinal

In what was a timid second leg of the Last 16 tie between Wolfsburg and Gent, the Bundesliga side came out on top for a second time to reach the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time in club history. (08.03.2016)  

Round of 16: Benfica leave it late, again

Having left it late in the first game, Benfica did it again in the away leg to advance to the quarterfinals. Zenit were saved by their superhero striker, but only momentarily. (09.03.2016)

An early Fernando Torres goal was first matched and then bested by two from Luis Suarez. Barcelona now take a one-goal lead in to their second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. (05.04.2016)  

Quarterfinals: Arturo Vidal goal saves Bayern Munich in narrow Benfica win

A second-minute goal from Arturo Vidal was enough to give Bayern Munich a slender win over Benfica. Yet Pep Guardiola's side will have to improve if they hope to match the Lisbon side next week. (05.04.2016)  

Quarterfinals: Man City rescue 2-2 draw with PSG after late Fernandinho goal

In a game of mistakes, Man City positioned themselves well to keep their Champions League dream alive. A 2-2 draw with PSG gives "The Citizens" a pair of valuable away goals ahead of the second leg. (06.04.2016)  

Quarterfinals: Julian Draxler guides Wolfsburg to famous win over Real Madrid

Wolfsburg have beaten Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie. Ricardo Rodriguez and Max Arnold scored the goals for the northern German side. (06.04.2016)

Kevin de Bruyne curled in the winner late in a cagey second leg between City and PSG - taking the Citizens to their first ever Champions League semifinal. The Parisians may well rue the lead that got away at home. (12.04.2016)  

Quarterfinals: Ronaldo treble sinks Wolfsburg in Madrid

A Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick blew Wolfsburg away in the Bernabéu, as a clinical Real Madrid side overcame a 2-0 first leg deficit with a 3-0 second leg win to secure a Champions League semifinal spot. (12.04.2016)  

Quarterfinals: Messi and holders Barcelona crash out to Atletico Madrid

The Champions League will have a new winner this season after Barcelona were dumped out of the tournament by Atletico Madrid. Antoine Griezmann netted twice as Atletico came back from first leg defeat to progress. (13.04.2016)  

Quarterfinals: Vidal drives Bayern Munich past Benfica and into semifinals

A draw in the return leg was enough to send Bayern Munich into the semifinals of the Champions League. Arturo Vidal and Thomas Müller scored as Bayern remain on course to win the treble this season. (13.04.2016)  

Semifinals: Real Madrid rue missed chances in semifinal stalemate

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid were profligate against a toothless Manchester City side. Tuesday’s Champions League semifinal finished goalless but the result leaves all to play for next week. (26.04.2016)  

Semifinals: Saul's special solo strike enough to beat Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich had plenty of pressure but couldn't find a way past a stubborn Atletico Madrid defense. A stunning goal from Spanish midfielder Saul gave Atletico Madrid a 1-0 win, leaving the tie in the balance. (27.04.2016)  

Semifinals: Atletico Madrid knock out Bayern Munich on away goal rule

Bayern Munich are out of the Champions League despite a 2-1 win in their home semifinal against Atletico Madrid. The tie ended 2-2 on aggregate, but only the Spaniards scored away from home. Bitter for Bayern. (03.05.2016)  

Semifinals: Real Madrid set up all-Madrid final

The Champions league final will be an all-Spanish affair and a repeat of the 2014 title match. That's after Real Madrid disposed of Manchester City in a semifinal that set an unofficial record for footballing tedium. (04.05.2016)

Qualifying R3: Hofmann fires Borussia Dortmund to first leg victory

Thomas Tuchel recorded his first competitive win as Borussia Dortmund coach in the Europa League third qualifying round. The Germans were made to sweat, but possess a lead going into next week's return leg. (30.07.2015)  

Qualifying R3: Dortmund safely into playoff round with routine win

Borussia Dortmund scored five second half goals to comfortably secure their place in the playoff round of the Europa League in front of a record crowd. Reus, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan's hat-trick sealed the win. (06.08.2015)  

Qualifying Playoffs: Spirited Dortmund comeback denies Odds BK historic win

Having trailed Odds BK by three goals, Thomas Tuchel's men won't have many complaints about the end result. A winner from Henrikh Mkhitaryan puts the Bundesliga side in pole position for a spot in the group phase. (20.08.2015)  

Qualifying Playoffs: Reus shines as Dortmund smash Odds BK to reach group stages

Borussia Dortmund will join Schalke and Augsburg in tomorrow's Europa League draw after thrashing Norwegian side Odds BK 10-4 on aggregate. Marco Reus scored a hat-trick as the Bundesliga side came from behind to win. (27.08.2015)  

Matchday 1: Park winner fires Borussia Dortmund to victory

Park Joo-ho scored the winning goal on his Borussia Dortmund debut as the German side continue their 100% record in the tournament so far. The yellow-and-blacks can owe a lot to Matthias Ginter's contribution in attack. (17.09.2015)  

Matchday 1: Huntelaar strikes twice, Augsburg go down fighting in Bilbao

Raul Bobadilla was the center of attention as Augsburg kept their European dreams alive with two games left. Meanwhile, Johannes Geis scored for Schalke who could only manage a 1-1 draw at Sparta Prague. (05.11.2015)

Borussia Dortmund were back to their best against Porto in the first leg of their Europa League last 32 tie on Thursday night, with a goal in either half giving the Bundesliga side a clear advantage. (18.02.2016)  

Round of 32: Augsburg hold Liverpool, Leverkusen and Schalke earn strong away results

Just one goal being scored in the three games involving German teams in the late Europa League matches. They will all be happy with their results though as Bundesliga clubs remained unbeaten in the last 32. (18.02.2016)

Bayer Leverkusen advanced to the last 16 of the Europa League after a comfortable 3-1 over Sporting CP. Schalke and Augsburg were both knocked out, each failing to score in their respective ties. (25.02.2016)  

Round of 16: Dominant Borussia Dortmund brush aside Tottenham

Marco Reus scored his first goals since the last round of European action as he hit a personal milestone in UEFA tournaments. Dortmund romped to victory and are in the driving seat for the return leg in London. (10.03.2016)  

Round of 16: Leverkusen offer little resistance as Villarreal claim victory

The problems for Roger Schmidt and Leverkusen continue to get worse. The eighth-placed Bundesliga side will need to overturn a two-goal deficit next Thursday to keep their Europa League ambitions alive. (10.03.2016)

Roger Schmidt's side controlled much of the game but never looked like scoring against their Spanish guests. Bayer Leverkusen have now won just one of their last six games. (17.03.2016)  

Round of 16: Aubameyang double sinks Spurs and sends Dortmund through

Dortmund, who had beaten the Premier League's second-placed side 3-0 in the first leg, took the second 2-1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put Spurs away with his 34th and 35th goals of the season in all competitions. (17.03.2016)
