Bayreuth: the Wagner opera festival - The first festival for the new organizers

It´s one of THE absolute highlights on Germany´s cultural calender ... and on this weekend, it got underway: the 98th Bayreuth Festival - celebrating the works of Richard Wagner, in the southern German town where the composer lived and worked. This year, the Festival is under new management. The organisers are the composer's great-granddaughters, Katharina and Eva Wagner.
