UK's finance minister called on the heads of the country's biggest banks for crisis talks - je 07.10.2008 14

Shares in the Royal Bank of Scotland were down as much as 40- percent this morning on speculation the British government was discussing an equity stake in a number of domestic banks. British news reports say the government may invest up to 60- Bbillion Euros in major banks to boost liquidity depleted by bad mortgage- related investments.
