Russia and Ukraine have signed a ten-year deal to allow natural gas to start flowing to Europe again. Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, and his Ukrainian counterpart, Yuliya Timoshenko, presided over the signing ceremony in Moscow. Under the agreement, Ukraine will start paying for Russian gas at "European" rates from next year while equally charging Russia "market" rates for transit. Gazprom is reporting this morning that it has resumed supplies.
