German mineral water consumption is growing, especially in Germany's east, the German Mineral Water Well Association reported on Thursday. Last year, Germans drank 110 liters of mineral water, 5 percent more than in 2002. According to the association's chairman, Wolfgang Stube, mineral water is now the third most-popular drink in Germany, following only coffee and beer. The association also noted that more Germans are buying mineral water at grocery discounters due to rising pricing brought on by the introduction of the euro as well as the current economic crisis.
