German businesses are keeping a close eye on Sunday's election in Russia. The most likely candidate to take over from Vladimir Putin is Dmitri Medvedev, currently vice-president, head of the Gasprom supervisory board, and Putin's preferred candidate. He's said to be pragmatic and open to the west. German business leaders are hoping he'll modernise and reform the Russian economy. +++Syn-Maz+++
