Tribal people around the world fight to maintain rights to their ancestral land and way of life

Survival International's Fiona Watson explains how tribal groups defend their ancestral lands against economic interests. In Brazil, a mining company is trying to expand a railroad line that already cuts through the rainforest that's home to the Awa people, one of the world's most endangered tribes. A judge last week stopped this railroad project, but the mining company is planning to appeal.
