Aid for the Autobahn - Are Germany’s roadways crumbling?

There are more than 12,000 kilometers of autobahn in Germany, along with 50,000 regional roadways and around 120,000 bridges. Germany spends about five billion euros a year maintaining its transportation infrastructure, but many more repairs are needed. Both drivers and industry complain about the miserable conditions on Germany’s roads. Could roadway tolls be part of the answer?
