Germany on one hand has shown its annoyance with regard to the U.S. carrying out strikes in Iraq without a U.N. resolution, but on the other hand it has allowed U.S./U.K. warplanes to use its airspace. Don't you think that's hypocrisy? What if, for example, B-52 bombers with a huge load of weapons and fuel, crash while flying over Germany due to aeronautical problems?

-- Nasir Rizwan Hashmi

It surprises me that some of the German public would believe the U.S. is an out of control superpower wanting to take over some innocent area of the world that happens to be oil-rich. They of all people to question American motives. Did the anti-American group honestly think we wanted war? No American in their right mind wishes to send their young into battle. Whether the cause is just or not, no one can deny the terrible track record of the Iraqi regime as far as human rights violations and supporting efforts to hurt the American people. In the past, we have chosen war, but we also choose to rebuild to make the world a better place to live. It is my hope that the German people will look at America's past record and not judge us from our unwillingness to follow world opinion in Iraq. History will be our judge. By the way, my ancestry is German and I will continue to be proud of heritage, continue to eat traditional German family food, drink German beer and worship at a German Lutheran Church.

Keep speaking the truth -- the American media is a propaganda machine for George W. Bush. The U.S. attack on Iraq is a war crime, and we will see that the guilty are tried in the International Court of Justice.

-- Neil Murray

This war is an abomination! From the very beginning the arguments have been weak, the motivation suspect and the execution a horrible precedent for our world. My congratulations to Germany, France and other countries that they have had the sense and strength to stand up for what is right.
