Ahead of the presidential election in the US at the beginning of November, we're bringing you a special about the deteriorating relationship between the US and China. This relationship is at its lowest point it's ever been in four decades. And the contentious issues are a plenty.

Torsten Teichmann (Washington D.C.) and Steffen Wurzel (Shanghai) went to explore the sentiments in the US and China. They spoke to Chinese customers in Shanghai who enjoy American coffee, went down to a small town in Iowa that hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping back in the 80s and ask where the relationship of the two countries is headed.
