In the Czech village of Ratibor, residents can now speak directly to an AI-powered avatar of their mayor.

Installed at the local information center, the digital mayor answers questions about municipal services and upcoming events in Czech, German and English in the form of natural voice conversations.

The system is currently in a test phase. Designed to improve access to public services, the AI mayor is available around the clock and aims to reduce the workload of municipal staff.

Residents say the technology is making local government more accessible, particularly for older people. Developers acknowledge that the system still has limitations and cannot replace human judgment.
