Why does Putin feel insulted by Germany's Carnival?

Poking fun at politicians is a major part of Carnival in Germany. But in Russia, criticism of Putin is no laughing matter.

In Düsseldorf, Carnival floats don't just entertain; they take aim at those in power. The figures on the floats are in part the work of German sculptor Jacques Tilly. This year, his satire comes with real-world consequences, because he's on trial in Moscow.

Russian authorities accuse him of discrediting the Russian army and spreading false information — charges that could mean years in a Russian prison. Since he is in Germany, he'd only face arrest if he travels to countries with extradition agreements with Russia. What does he think about it?
