Usedom is perfect for an autumn getaway

The island of Usedom offers something for everyone. The magic of the Baltic Sea lures visitors the year round, even in autumn.

The architecture of the imperial spas of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin make for colorful walks along the promenade. Or visitors can take a bicycle tour to the interior. The Achterwasser, a large bay separating the island from the mainland, offers glorious autumn scenery. In northern Usedom lies Peenemünde, a village with a unique history. It was here that the Nazis developed the infamous V-2 rocket. Today a museum offers a critical view of the test site's role in World War II.

And for those seeking peace and quiet, there's Lieper Winkel, where nature rules and there's little sign of tourists.
