President Trump and Chinese leader Xi agreed to a 90-day stop to new tariffs in a step to slow an ongoing trade war. The meeting came on the heels of a G20 summit that called for revamping world trade rules.
Beijing said bilateral talks were "very successful" and that it was "confident" a trade pact with the US would be reached in 90 days. President Trump welcomed a deal, but reiterated that he was "a Tariff Man."
Washington has said it needs to see progress in trade talks with China before March 1 or tariffs will go up. Separately, Beijing has said the US should withdraw its arrest warrant for Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou.
