In Greece, protesters again faced off against security forces as funeral proceedings got underway for the teenager shot by police over the weekend. Ranks of riot police formed a cordon outside parliament in Athens. Earlier Tuesday, the protestors advanced on the security forces in an effort to march on parliament. Many threw stones. Authorities fear violence could escalate once again. On Monday night, thousands of people burned and looted shops in central Athens. Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis has been meeting with other political leaders to discuss the crisis. But the opposition is resisting his calls for unity, saying people have lsot trust in the government.
