Election Campaigning in Indonesia Gains Momentum

Campaigning is in full swing in Indonesia, as the country braces for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The vote will take place on April 9. The key players include President Yudhoyono's centrist Democratic Party, Vice-President Jusuf Kalla’s Golkar party and the former President Megawati Sukarnoputri’s Democratic Party of Struggle.

The election for the 560-seat national parliament will have a huge bearing on presidential elections, which are due in July.
