US President Donald Trump is showing no signs of backing down from his push to take control of Greenland. NATO's Secretary General says the alliance is working to strengthen the security of the Danish territory.

US President Donald Trump insists Washington must secure Greenland, an Arctic island with just 57,000 residents, to prevent rivals China and Russia from doing so. NATO, led by Secretary General Mark Rutte, pledges to safeguard the Arctic through collective action, possibly increasing patrols and ground deployments. Meanwhile, most Greenlanders reject the idea of a US takeover.
