Arts.21 # Trans-Siberia – The New Goethe Institute in Novosibirsk # 28.03.2009

Daniel SteadMarch 29, 2009

The Trans-Siberian Railway stops in the middle of the city. There's a statue of Lenin in front of the huge opera house. In Novosibirsk, Siberia’s biggest city, the Goethe Institute is opening its third office in Russia. ARTS.21 accompanied two young German artists, the slam poet Nora-Eugenie Gomringer and the photographer Andreas Herzau, on a trip there. We went to the Goethe Institute, the historical train station, and to a poetry reading with a DJ.
