Germany's food bank debate

A food bank in Essen has sparked a national debate in Germany after deciding to stop accepting people without a German passport — unless they were already signed up. The organizers say the majority of people they help are foreigners, and this makes other recipients uncomfortable. But is it unfair to shut foreigners out from receiving this kind of charity? Another food bank in Berlin thinks so.
