World in Progress: German law raises hopes in Bangladesh

Germany has passed a new Supply Chain Act, which means large companies will be required to take even more responsibility for working conditions at their global suppliers. They will be obliged to take action against human rights and environmental violations, or face fines. Over 7,000 kilometers away in Bangladesh, the new law has attracted great interest among workers in the textile industry.
