On this edition of Eco Africa we see how a group is trying to bring migratory birds back to Burkina Faso, use some eco-friendly soap from the Cape Verde Islands and vacuum up plastic on South Africa's beaches.

Migratory birds in decline around Burkina Faso

In Burkina Faso, huge tracts of land have been given over to shea butter production. These monocultures don't suit migrating birds and they are staying away. Now NGOs are working to bring the ecosystem back into balance.

Vacuuming up plastic from South Africa's beaches

A local conservation group has designed a vacuum to assist with the removal of plastic and microplastics from South African beaches. For the group, the EnviroBuggy is now another tool to help keep things clean.
