Adel Toukan fled Syria 15 years ago and now lives in Jordan’s Za’atari camp, with no legal work or future prospects. Jordan hosts hundreds of thousands of refugees, straining resources and sparking mixed public opinion. The EU provides aid, partly to curb migration to Europe. Amid rising regional tensions, Jordan seeks stronger EU ties to ensure stability and prevent new refugee influxes, while families like Adel’s still dream of returning home.
