Reconciliation in Oradour-sur-Glane -- 70 Years After the Nazi Massacre

On the tenth of June 1944, German members of the Waffen-SS killed 642 residents of the village of French village of Oradour-sur-Glane. They shot many of them, including women and children, before torching the village church and other buildings. Just six people managed to escape the inferno.

The original village was preserved as a memorial to the tragedy. Today volunteers -- including ones from Germany -- work together with survivors to inform people about the massacre.
