Pope Leo caps off 3-day Lebanon visit with Beirut mass

Pope Leo ended his visit to Lebanon, the first official papal visit to the country in more than a decade. On his last day, 150,000 believers from across the Middle East attended the pontiff’s farewell mass in Beirut.

Pope Leo XIV celebrated mass in Beirut, drawing 150,000 people amid Lebanon's political and economic turmoil.

He urged the Middle East to reject revenge and violence and embrace reconciliation.

The pontiff also prayed at the site of the 2020 Beirut port explosion, a lingering wound for many.
