Tourism impacts on Galapagos biodiversity

The Galapagos Islands are famed as a treasure trove of unique flora and fauna. More than 4,500 species that live nowhere else on the planet have already been discovered there. The islands are also a top destination for modern-day tourists. But this unique biodiversity is under threat from overfishing, an increase in garbage and alien species introduced by visiting humans.
