Israeli air strikes have killed at least 20 people in southern Lebanon, hours after a ceasefire with Hezbollah was supposed to be in effect, Lebanese Civil Defense said. Attacks hit Nabatieh, nearby villages and the Beqaa Valley, including a residential building in Barish. Israel said the strikes were in response to overnight Hezbollah rocket fire. Residents on both sides voiced doubts about the truce, as mediators warn tensions could escalate.
