China is searching for new transport routes to Western markets. One crosses Central Asia and passes through Georgia, which is the only country in the region which has a free trade agreement with China and the European Union. Beijing is one of Georgia's most important trading partners – and is investing millions in Georgian businesses and infrastructure.
China is earmarking $900 billion for its new Silk Road in order to bolster trade. The gigantic infrastructure project includes roads, railway lines, ports and airports.
A gathering of people in the elevator business has taken place in Moscow. The event attracted professionals from all over the world and presented an opportunity to assess bilateral business ties.
