Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder. Its characteristic symptoms are tics, involuntary twitches and repeated vocal utterances or words. Victims can barely control these outbursts, if at all. The cause is unknown and there is no effective cure, but medication can alleviate the tics to some extent.
