November 16, 2019

Pratheesh is from India but he’s become a bit German too; after all he works at Bosch. Now, he’s going back home to get married. He’s taking his friends Georg and Hiltrud, who aren’t fans of the institution, with him.

Originally from Kerala in southern India, Pratheesh has lived in Germany for seven years. He works as a programmer at Bosch and feels very much at home. One reason is that his first housemates - old hippies Georg and Hiltrud - made him feel very welcome. Now they are almost like a second set of parents and he only very recently moved into his own flat. It came as a bit of a surprise to them when he returned from a trip back to India and announced that he was going to marry his great love Anu who is also from Kerala. They are not big fans of the institution of marriage but they decided to go with Pratheesh to India to attend his huge Hindu wedding with all the rituals and countless guest. A report by Almut Maria Röhrl.
