Petri Mattus is one of the world’s few reindeer breeders. His farm is located 300 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, in northern Lapland. Herding reindeer is a family tradition. Though he’s traded in the skis of his forefathers for a snowmobile, he still spends the nights out with his herd in traditional fashion - in a Sami tent, called a lavvos.
