Deadly drinking water

A man carries buckets filled with water on the banks of the river Ganges in India. This is India's holiest river and a source of spiritual purification for devout Hindus. Millions of people depend on the river but it is heavily polluted with untreated domestic and industrial waste. Some 650 million people globally have no access to safe water, putting them at risk of infectious disease and premature death.
