Nigeria is struggling to enforce a ban on small alcohol sachets introduced to curb underage drinking. Six months after the ban went into effect, cheap high-potency spirits remain widely available across the country. Health experts warn that easy access is fueling youth alcohol consumption.

The alcohol industry argues that such products support livelihoods. With conflicting government messages and little enforcement, the ban has so far had limited impact.
