Kenya drought pushes millions toward hunger

What happens when the rains just stop coming? In northern Kenya, millions of people are struggling to find enough basic food and water to survive. Hundreds of thousands are already living in emergency conditions.

Sofia Aluwadhan's village in Kenya's Wajir County is battling extreme drought, with months of failed rains leaving families without water, pasture or food. Livestock are dying, aid funding is shrinking and one borehole serves more than 100 families. As malnutrition rises, communities try to adapt, but without rain or reliable support, daily survival grows ever harder.
