Japan has recorded its largest export gains in more than two years, official figures have shown. The world's third-biggest economy is benefiting in many regions from a market rebound in manufacturing.
UN human rights experts have said the workers, most of them migrants, risked "exposure to radiation and coercion." They have called on Japan to protect the workers cleaning up the damaged nuclear power station.
China has said it will hold a fresh round of trade talks with the United States in Washington later this month, providing some hope that the current conflict between the world's two largest economies can be defused.
Unfazed by a mounting number of uncertainties, Europe's largest economy has logged better-than-expected growth in the second quarter. Experts said the expansion was mainly driven by domestic consumption.
Fresh figures from Beijing have shown that China's closely watched trade surplus with the United States eased in July. But the headline numbers are unlikely to soften the US administration's stance on the Asian country.
