Iran's leadership accuses the West of encouraging unrest and acknowledges voting irregularites did take place

Iranian officials say some voting irregularites did happen in the country's disputed presidential election but that the result is not affected. The country's Guardian Council says there were serious voting discrepanices in fifty cities - where the number of ballots exceeded the number of registered voters. However, officials insist the irregularities do NOT change the final outcome of the result which was a landslide in favour of incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad. The controversial results of the June 12th presidential election - have prompted some of the biggest street protests in Iran in 30 years. +++ SYN-MAZ +++
