The EU has lodged an official complaint at the World Trade Organization. They want to introduce countermeasures, like tariffs on US products like bourbon whiskey, motorcycles and jeans worth some €2.8 billion ($3.3 billion).
The free trade deal is the EU's first with a member of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). The European Parliament's approval will clear the path for the deal to come into force as early as this year.
