Laos is still the most heavily bombed country worldwide per capita, due to the Vietnam War.

There are more than 80 million unexploded mini-bombs in the ground in Laos, a 40-year-old legacy of the Vietnam War that still kills and maims dozens of people every year. The explosive devices are dropped in containers and released in the air.
