An increasing number of Syrian and Iraqi refugees are fleeing through Turkey, across the Black Sea, to Romania. The coast guard has already rescued a number of people stranded at sea. Romania fears the Black Sea may become a new refugee route.
Russia and Turkey's deal to demilitarize the battle lines around Idlib has been moved on a step. A buffer zone is intended to separate Syrian troops from rebel fighters, and prevent a full-scale assault on the city.
The Russian President and his Turkish counterpart have met in Sochi to strike a deal over rebel-held Idlib province in Syria. The two leaders have several issues where they are keen to score points.

Mehmet Y., who has dual German-Turkish citizenship, has been under house arrest in a Bulgarian hotel since September 5. Officials in Ankara want him extradited. If that request is granted, he's likely to end up in jail.
