Champions League: BVB welcome Spurs, Leipzig head to Monaco

Borussia Dortmund vs. Tottenham Hotspur (Tuesday, 8:45 p.m. CET)

After defeats in their last four Bundesliga games and only one win from eight in all competitions, Borussia Dortmund are well and truly in crisis. Back-to-back draws against APOEL Nicosia in their last two Champions League matches effectively ended any hopes the Black & Yellows had of qualifying for the knockout stages.

Third in group H and five points behind Real Madrid, BVB would have to beat both Tottenham Hotspur and Real while relying on an unlikely favor from the Cypriot minnows. However, a win on Tuesday would put them in a strong position to drop into the Europa League.

More importantly, Tuesday's game against the high-flying English side is all about recovering form and moral ahead of Saturday's huge Revierderby against Schalke.

Star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to return after having been omitted from the squad for Friday's defeat in Stuttgart on disciplinary grounds, but doubts remain over American winger Christian Pulisic who also missed the trip to Swabia with a muscle problem. Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is definitely out after damaging his ribs against Stuttgart.

Monaco vs RB Leipzig (Tuesday, 20:45 CET)

Unlike Dortmund, Champions League newcomers RasenBallsport Leipzig still have a chance of reaching the knockout stages in their first year in the competition – but they badly need a win at French champions Monaco.

Consequently, coach Ralph Hasenhüttl is expected to field an attacking team in the principality with Yussuf Poulsen joining Timo Werner up front and midfielders Naby Keita and Kevin Kampl being given more license to get forward.

But should Porto win away at group leaders Besiktas, possible qualification for the next round will be out of the Red Bull club's hands.

Anderlecht vs. Bayern Munich (Wednesday, 8:45 p.m.)

Bayern Munich and Paris St Germain have already secured their places in the knockout stages but top spot in Group B is still up for grabs. However, the Bavarians would require a big win against the Parisians in the final game to conmpensate for their 3-0 defeat in their first meeting.

First up though is a trip to Brussels to face Belgian champions Anderlecht, who are still without a point or even a goal, with Jupp Heynckes looking to extend his 100-percent record since returning to Bayern. Thomas Müller (muscle tear), Franck Ribery (cruciate ligament) and Thiago Alcantara (knee injury) are all set to miss out.

'€100 for a football match?'

Meanwhile, Bayern supporters have complained about the prices of tickets in the away end at the Constant-Vanden-Stock Stadium. Bayern Munich have received just over 1,000 tickets for the game, 173 priced at €70 euros ($82) and 852 at 100 euros. However, Bayern have said that they will subsidize the cost so that all the traveling supporters will wind up paying the lower price.

But fans have accused Anderlecht of contravening UEFA regulations by charging away supporters more than the equivalent prices in the home section.

"€100 for a football match?" wrote the fan group "Munich's Red Pride" in a statement released ahead of Saturday's 3-0 win over Augsburg. "That sort of price wouldn't even be acceptable for a final … it seems the greed knows no limits."
