Bundesliga Round 12 in Pictures
Bayern set new Bundesliga undefeated mark.
Bayern's 3-0 win at home against Augsburg was a run-of-the-mill victory against an overmatched opponent, but it was also one for the history books. Munich are now undefeated in 37 Bundesliga games, more than any other team ever in Germany. How long will the streak continue? At the moment, you'd have to say that the sky's the limit.
Wolfsburg trip up Dortmund
2009 Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg are better than they've been at any time since winning the title, and they claimed a prominent victim on Saturday, downing Dortmund 2-1. Ivica Olic (underneath) scored a marvelous game winner. Dortmund defender Neven Subotic (above) tore a knee ligament. This is one day Dortmund will want to forget.
Leverkusen's Son hammers Hamburg
Heung-Min Son is a man of few words, so he wasn't crowing after hitting a hat trick past his former club Hamburg, who must have rued selling the Korean forward this summer. Son also contributed an assist in a wild match, which ended in a 5-3 win for third-placed Leverkusen.
Prince powers Schalke past Bremen
Schalke looked headed toward defeat at home against hot-and-cold Bremen. But 25 minutes from time, team talisman Kevin-Prince Boateng decided enough was enough. The Prince scored two headers and provided the assist that sealed the 3-1 win. Rumors of his having a chronically gimpy knee seem to be exaggerated.
Hertha notch away win in Hoffenheim
Hertha Berlin striker Adrian Ramos was involved in all three of the capital club's goals in their 3-2 win in Hoffenheim. The Colombian set up the first and scored the second with a spot kick. Then when the hosts came back to level, he headed home the winner to give Hertha their first away victory this season.
Hanover-Braunschweig derby ends goalless
Hanover and Braunschweig are only 66 kilometers apart, and to say that the two teams' fans don't like one another would be an understatement. Braunschweig supporters even released a pig in downtown Hanover before the match. The game itself was hard-fought but yielded no goals. The 0-0 result doesn't do either side much good.
Gladbach pull off a lucky comeback
When things are going right anything is possible, whereas if you're in a rut, it seems as if nothing works. For seventy minutes, last-placed Nuremberg were the better team in Mönchengladbach. Then the Foals, currently in fourth, racked up three quick goals and ran out 3-1 winners. Nuremberg played well, but they'll regret the lost points.
Mainz squeak past Frankfurt
It isn't often that the man of the match comes from the losing team. But that was the case in Sunday's early game. Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp stopped almost everything Mainz through at him. But he was powerless to block a late Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting header, and Mainz came away with a late 1-0 win.
Stuttgart hit three past Freiburg
In Sunday's late match, Stuttgart jumped out to an early two-goal lead away against their local rivals Freiburg, and they never really let their hosts back in the game. Timo Werner (left) was in particularly fine form. The 17-year-old forward scored twice in Stuttgart's 3-1 win.
