Bill McKibben: What do fossil fuels have to do with despots?

Back in 1989, Bill McKibben wrote his first book about the climate crisis — then called the greenhouse effect. He thought that would just about set the record straight on the deadly consequences of burning fossil fuels, and spur politicians into action. Three decades later, he reflects on a key aspect he was missing. Bill is a US author, founder of 350.org and the over-60s group Third Act.
