9 must-read books to face the Trump era

US President Donald Trump has made booksellers' dreams come true. North American magazines and blogs have been listing a range of must-read books, in an attempt to understand the new president's behavior.

Who would have thought that US President Donald Trump would actually inspire both philosophical and literary debate? Surprisingly, he has.

Likewise, he has topped a variety of lists of late, being named Person of the Year by "Time Magazine," for example. Trump was chosen, as the magazine's managing editor Nancy Gibbs wrote, as "the person who had the greatest influence, for the better or the worse, on the events of the year."

That influence has prompted a slew of magazines and blogs to make book recommendations for readers - in the hope that reading them may offer insight into the new president's chaotic governing style. Here's a selection of those recommendations.
