This past Sunday, Pakistani human rights lawyer and social activist Asma Jahangir passed away in Lahore, at the age of 66. She was known for representing the rights of those often dispossessed in conservative Pakistani society, and she was a very contentious figure who lived with constant death threats from opponents.
