June 28, 2026

After Venezuela's devastating earthquakes, international rescue teams are still pulling survivors from the rubble. But the chances of finding more people alive are decreasing.

Rescue teams are racing against time after powerful twin earthquakes struck Venezuela last Wednesday.

A 9‑month‑old baby and his mother were pulled alive from rubble, while international crews from Spain and Colombia have helped to save more survivors. Over 1,400 buildings were damaged, with volunteers supporting rescuers with limited resources.

Frustration is growing as authorities restrict access to hardest-hit areas.
