The legislative course of US President Barack Obama's final two years in office may have largely been determined on Tuesday as Americans voted on third of the 100 Senate seats as well as all 435 seats in the House of Representatives as well as numerous state governorships.
The Republicans won a majority in Senate and solidified their hold on the House in the vote that many called a referendum on Obama's signature policies, including health care and immigration reform.
