UPDATE EUROPE is a three hour lunchtime magazine programme for a pan-European audience.

The show follows the 10.00 UTC news bulletin with a lively, cosmopolitan mix of stories about and for Europeans; stories with a human touch full of variety and vitality.

Music and current affairs

After the 11.00 UTC bulletin, we shift gear for the next two hours with in-depth coverage of those breaking stories climbing up the news agenda. Listen out for correspondents' reports and interviews that provide answers to the "why" as well as to the "where" and the "what" in the day's hard news.

But we want UPDATE EUROPE to be easy as well as informative lunchtime listening and so the crafted speech content will be served up with a selection of the best in popular music.

UPDATE EUROPE starts a new week with a new presenter. The listener will hear the same familiar, friendly voice every day during any given week and Deutsche Welle's talented broadcasters will also have the opportunity to to display their skills in an important new programme with a brand new format.
