Unrest continues in Libya # 28.02.2011 15 Uhr # Journal Englisch

Libyan leader Muammar Ghaddafi is still refusing to relinquish power despite massive international pressure, and the fact that he's lost control of most of his country. The UN and now the EU have imposed heavy sanctions, and a criminal investigation into Ghaddafi's actions has been ordered. On the ground, opposition forces say they have held off an attack by Ghaddafi supporters near the town of Misrata and shot down a military aircraft, capturing its crew. And reports say anti-government fighters in the town of Zawiyah, just outside the capital, have been surrounded and are preparing for a counter-attack.
