Torrential rain triggers deadly flash floods in Mexico

More than 20 people have been killed in flooding caused by torrential rain in Mexico. The central region of Veracruz is among the states that has been hit particularly hard.

Torrential rain and flash floods have swept across Mexico, killing over 20 people and inundating cities like Poza Rica in the central state of Veracruz. Within minutes, rivers surged, sweeping away residents and submerging streets. In nearby towns, water levels rose rapidly. Thousands of troops have been deployed to support recovery efforts.
