80,000 Syrians live in Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan. Few have savings, but trade is thriving in the camp. An estimated 3,000 shops are selling everything from food to bridal gowns.
The convoy is the first to arrive since January. Some 50,000 people are stranded under desperate conditions at the Rukban camp, 18,000 of them children.
Several people were killed in sudden flooding that hit a number of areas of Jordan, including the historic city of Petra. Heavy rains are expected to continue in the region, spelling trouble for authorities.
