Every girl in the world knows that it will happen at some stage in their lives, but that doesn't always make it easier to talk about. For girls in industrialized, first world countries, the event is no longer a big deal. But in South Africa -like in most African countries- menstruation is not only a taboo topic but it can also have a massive negative impact on the lives of millions of girls.
